Miniature gardening with pelargoniums

Instead of arranging food on plates, this homemade floral table design serves party snacks on floating platters. The boards are held in place by empty wine bottles. Simply drill two or three holes in the platters, depending on their size, and place them over clean bottles. Add colourful cut geraniums, sea holly (Eryngium planum) and decorative grasses to the water-filled bottles to complete this summery table decoration! With abundant blooms and bright colours, geraniums are the epitome of summer. Geraniums have a wide variety of colours, leaves, flowers and growth habits. To ensure these easy-care plants thrive, make sure you plant them in large enough containers, with good quality potting compost and a good drainage system. There’s very little difference between the many cultivars in their requirements for location and care. Plenty of space, plenty of light and regular watering and fertilising are the main requirements for this easy-care beauty to flower non-stop from spring to autumn.
