DIY Hanging Baskets with Geraniums

Floating flower magic at eye level: geraniums are a delight in hanging baskets from spring to autumn. If you don't want to use ready-made hanging baskets, you can make your own. Here, old lampshades have been transformed into hanging geranium baskets, in addition to a standard planter. Tip: If you use homemade containers without drainage, make sure there is no standing water inside them. As well as a drainage layer and careful watering, it is also a good idea to find a location protected from the rain. Geraniums come in a wide variety of colours and growth habits. There’s very little difference between the many cultivars in their requirements for location and care. Plenty of space, plenty of light and regular watering and fertilising are the main requirements for this easy-care beauty to flower non-stop from spring to autumn. Hanging floral magic: Lush flowering geraniums in planters, a branch, macrame hanging baskets and sturdy string - that's all you need for this pretty handcrafted hanging arrangement. Tip: Geraniums will bloom non-stop from spring to autumn in a sunny spot. A place out of the rain and careful watering will prevent waterlogging.
