Upcycling idea for your garden: this charming suspended decoration project is a geranium hanging basket and wind chime in one. With just a trailing geranium, a few old terracotta pots, some paint, wooden beads and cord, this eyecatching feature is quick and easy to make. Tip: Choose a sunny to partially shaded spot to hang it up. Geraniums need plenty of light to grow vigorously and continue producing new flowers until autumn. For this hanging decoration project, you will need a flowering trailing geranium, one large and three small terracotta pots, acrylic paints, brushes, cord, large wooden beads and smaller flat beads, available from craft stores. Carefully clean the terracotta pots, then paint them with the acrylic colours of your choice. Leave to dry Wrap cord tightly several times around the large pot, below the top rim, and knot cords to it for hanging. Then, from the inside, thread a long piece of cord out through the hole in the bottom of the large terracotta pot and fix it in place, using a flat wooden bead as a stopper. The bead must be larger than the hole in the bottom of the pot, so the cord doesn't slip through, and the wind chime hangs securely. Then attach the three small pots to the string, like bells with the opening facing downwards, using more stopper beads.
